House 16 is the one we’ve all been waiting for - our very own Erin’s family home renovation. Erin wanted to transform her tired looking brick home into a modern-day Urban Farmhouse with wow-factor and street appeal.
Erin’s house had great bones but the brick exterior and terracotta roof were dated and the whole home lacked the classic charm and character we needed to bring the vision to life. Choosing the building materials that could help us achieve this look was crucial to transform the facade, including cladding, stone walling, fresh new paint, new black window frames and a new steel roof.
Without a doubt, the biggest part of this epic facade transformation is the addition of the new roof. This house has A LOT of roof and because it’s positioned slightly lower than the road, you can see almost every inch of it as you approach the property.
Inspired by American farmhouses, we had our hearts set on steel roofing to bring the country barn-like look to life, and the moment we laid eyes on LYSAGHT SNAPSEAM™ we knew it would be the perfect product to achieve this. We chose the colour Basalt, a beautiful deep cool grey that works well with the exterior paint colour (Dulux Grey Port) and the black window frames (Stegbar).
From our experience in the industry, roofs are often overlooked in exterior renovations.
