How long has Lysaght been in Australia?

In 2021, Lysaght celebrated the major milestone of 100 years of local manufacturing, an impressive achievement that goes against the trend of offshoring which has prevailed in Australia during recent decades.

Lysaght’s enduring place in Australia’s building landscape has its origins in Britain, where entrepreneurial Irishman John Lysaght began galvanising corrugated steel sheeting in Bristol in 1857. He registered the product under the ORB® trademark, and original ORB-branded roofing and walling can still be found on many older buildings across Australia today. These historic sheets have become sought-after heritage materials, prized by collectors and those looking to incorporate authentic period materials into restorations and renovations.
