As a source of interior design and architectural inspiration, it’s difficult to go past Channel Ten’s ‘Australia by Design: Architecture’ (ABD) television program, which returns in late January for season 5.
This year’s shows will again celebrate some of the country’s best architecture and building design, and Lysaght – as one of Australia’s leading building product manufacturers – is proud to be named as a principal sponsor once more.
Events of the last 12 to 18 months have shed light on the importance of the home not only as a place of rest and relaxation, but as a more complex space that in many cases must also cater to work requirements. This scenario has thrown up considerable challenges to design professionals, who have had to meet extremely complex briefs.
This season will showcase how many of these challenges can be overcome and turned into creative solutions using good architecture and design principles, ultimately leading to spaces that have strong visual impact and are pleasurable to interact with, while remaining functional for modern living.
The first five episodes will feature three or four different properties per episode which are judged by an expert panel of industry leaders who will decide which of the properties are most outstanding. The shortlisted properties as the ‘best of the best’, will progress to the sixth and final episode with one ultimately being judged as Australia’s ultimate architectural design statement of the year.
Lysaght Marketing Manager, Blake Tasker, will again return to the judging panel, and said he was extremely pleased to be representing Lysaght on the program in 2022.
“Lysaght has participated in judging Australia by Design for since the show’s inception, and during our involvement we’ve seen some simply stunning and creative architectural and design examples,” Blake said.
“Each season just seems to set a higher benchmark, so we look forward to seeing what Season 5 has in store.”
“The program provides Lysaght with an excellent opportunity to engage, collaborate and increase our exposure to Australia’s most talented architectural and design professionals, key users of the Lysaght range of steel building products.”
Lysaght’s product line-up includes roofing and walling, architectural cladding, structural products and more, and has been featured on many episodes of ABD. The range is also Australian-made, with Lysaght having recently celebrated 100 years of Australian manufacturing.
The first episode of ABD airs on Network10 on Sunday January 23 at 2:30pm, with an encore screening airing on 10BOLD on Saturday January 29.
