Leading steel building product manufacturer Lysaght has released a series of documents detailing how its products comply with the National Construction Code.
Known as ‘National Construction Code of Australia Compliance Bulletins’, the resources cover Lysaght’s most popular products – the LYSAGHT® Roofing and Walling range, the LYSAGHT ZENITH™ Architectural Cladding Range, the Heritage Range, Rainwater Goods, and the LYSAGHT BONDEK® range.
All are now available for download from the company’s website.
With Lysaght planning to release more bulletins in coming months, the series will soon cover the company’s entire product range. It will become a reference source for builders, architects, building owners and others with an interest in NCC compliance details.
An initiative of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG), the NCC provides the minimum necessary requirements for safety and health; amenity and accessibility, and sustainability in the design, construction, performance and liveability of new buildings (and new building work in existing buildings) throughout Australia.
Everybody in the supply chain, including designers, suppliers and installers, is responsible for ensuring that all products used comply with the NC and are suitable for their intended use.
Increasingly regulatory authorities are requiring documentary evidence of this compliance. For example, Queensland recently introduced legislation placing the onus on all in the chain to report the use of non-conforming products.
“At Lysaght, we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and are firmly committing to ensuring that they are manufactured with the highest levels of health, safety, amenity and sustainability,” said Tony Jamieson, Lysaght National Specification Manager.
“We vigorously support the demands of the NCC and see these documents as a way for us to proactively meet the demands the Code place on us as a building product manufacturer.”
