The 2024 Lysaght Inspirations Design Awards saw an impressive 2,000 votes cast by the public, and the People’s Choice Award goes to the Forster Surf Life Saving Club by Webber Architects! This $8M multi-stage development has been a transformative project for the Forster community, combining functionality and aesthetic appeal in a challenging beachfront environment.

The new facility includes a function room, café, training areas, and members' spaces—all designed to enhance community engagement and safety. The design balances durability with visual impact, clad with PERMALITE® PERCIPERE® in a striking metallic Aries™ finish with accents of ALSPAN® in Glacier White™ to boost energy efficiency.

A Catalyst for Community Growth

Webber Architects collaborated closely with local council and key stakeholders to create a facility that revitalises the regional foreshore while offering improved accessibility and comfort. The design thoughtfully addresses the needs of the club and the community by creating spaces for gatherings, training, and day-to-day operations, all while maintaining a robust approach to sustainability.

The use of LYSAGHT PERMALITE® products not only adds to the club's aesthetic but also ensures resilience against the tough marine conditions for many years to come. The material selections highlight contrasting hues and textures, providing a dynamic yet harmonious connection to the natural surroundings.
